Why?

Why do origami?

Origami is a wonderful hobby which can be practiced by anyone from 6 to 106.
It improves patience, motor skills and spatial visualisation.
It is one of the least expensive of artforms - all you really need is a sheet of paper!

Models range from the super simple to the super complex, and even many of the simple ones exhibit great beauty.

The origami community is small & friendly and you'll find most people are happy to teach what they know.

Why attend L.I.P.S. meetings?

We get together to show off what we've made, get help when we're stuck on a model somebody else has folded, teach new people, and incidentally have a good time in the company of good friends.

There are far worse ways to spend a Saturday afternoon than getting educated in the paper-folding art of many cultures.
